An open, free, bilingual project
One directory per community.
bottins.ca hosts free professional directories for Quebec's artistic and cultural communities that don't have one yet — and deserve one.
Why another directory?
Many cultural professions have no LinkedIn, no Spotify, no IMDb of their own. No platform to find each other, no index for presenters, no collective memory for the community. bottins.ca is the simple infrastructure to fill that gap — one directory at a time.
Who's it for?
- 01
Artists
Build your profile in minutes. You control what's published. Always free.
- 02
Communities
Someone from your milieu moderates the directory and keeps its visual identity. We handle the plumbing.
- 03
Presenters and the public
Clear search, up-to-date profiles, links to artist websites. Nothing more, nothing less.
How it works
- 01
A community requests a directory.
You write us with the need. We set up the directory, its fields, filters, and colors.
- 02
Artists sign up.
Each artist creates their profile directly on bottins.ca. Bio, projects, city, expertise.
- 03
A moderator approves.
Profiles go through a light approval step to keep the directory relevant.
- 04
The directory comes alive.
Full-text search, filters, easy sharing. Artists update their profile anytime.
Active directories
A few communities already in.
Our principles.
Free
No freemium. Directories are free for communities and their members. A voluntary contribution is welcome to support upkeep.
Bilingual by default
FR and EN from day one. Profiles can be too — at each artist's choice.
Simple
No gimmick features. A profile, a directory, a search. That's it.
Independent
No investors. No ads. The code is open source. Your data belongs to you.
